Field Guide
LIB FEST 2026 · KERN COUNTY, CA · CONFIDENTIAL
Joy Points, our company's one-of-a-kind immaterial capital acquisition system, can be earned by participating in the following five research programs and giving a B.O.O.P. While not at all necessary, simultaneous participation in all five is strongly encouraged. Participation is at-will and can be completed at the leisure of participants. Start, pause or quit as you wish. Joy Points will be recorded on the Leaderboard and exceptionally successful participants may earn rewards of the material variety.
Definition
What is a B.O.O.P.?
A B.O.O.P. — or Brijjing Overlap Observation Protocol — occurs when an enrolled participant utilizes their mobile device to scan an object of interest to the Bureau. B.O.O.P. points are readily visible to the trained eye and color-coded to the specific research program they correlate to. Give a B.O.O.P., earn some Joy.

Basic Surveying
60 B.O.O.P. Points · Difficulty: Easy
60 red markers with the Bureau logo indicate a point of dimensional intersection. These can be found randomly scattered throughout the grounds. Regular surveying of these points is necessary to gather critical data.

Routine Maintenance
10 M.E.L.O.N. Nodes · Difficulty: Easy
The 10 nodes of the M.E.L.O.N. require near-constant exposure to high frequency energy to recharge their capacitors and function at peak operational strength. Studies are being conducted into how these capacitors react to different individuals' energy signatures. Click here for the locations of the 10 nodes.

Observational Field Study
8 Multidimensional Elves · Difficulty: Intermediate
Energy signature readings indicate that there are 8 rare "multidimensional elves" at various places in the festival grounds. Notoriously difficult to observe, these elves tend to appear as beloved toys from the past in our plane of reality. Scanning them will provide the Bureau with a fantastic opportunity to learn more about them.

7 Forgotten Artifacts · Difficulty: Intermediate
Lost to the temporal record, these 7 forgotten artifacts have been recreated by the L.I.B.'s exclusive information rejuvenation process. Unfortunately, while we can summon these artifacts into this plane of reality, we can't quite control where they end up — yet. Scans of these artifacts will give the Bureau greater insight into the principles of their materialization.

5 Spatiotemporal Phenomena · Difficulty: Advanced
We don't know what will happen, just that it will. Participants who keep a close eye on the Bureau Dispatch will have five short windows of opportunity to witness and interact with spatiotemporal phenomena throughout the weekend. Your observations and experiences are of immense value.
Watch the Bureau Dispatch. The window is short.
